Banks are required to provide Buyers with copies of the home appraisal.
Buyers should take time to look at the appraisal and make sure:
- the information is accurate – numbers of bedrooms, baths, basement or crawl, etc.
- all the comparable sales are within the past year or less.
- all improvements have been noted – roof, furnace and central air, etc
If the above information appears to be incorrect then Buyers should contact their lender and real estate agent so the information can be verified and an adjustment to the appraisal can be requested.
